Sunday Is My Day: The Power of Pouring Back Into Yourself

Sunday Is My Day: The Power of Pouring Back Into Yourself Still Becoming Wellness

You spend all week showing up for everyone else. What would happen if you made a little time to show up for yourself?

Let's talk about something that I believe every woman deserves: a moment to herself.

Not a moment squeezed in between everybody else's needs. Not five minutes of peace before somebody calls your name. And not a moment spent feeling guilty because you decided to do something for yourself.

I'm talking about intentional, uninterrupted time to pour back into YOU.

For me, that day is Sunday.

Sunday is my day to pamper myself, reset my mind, refresh my spirit, and get myself together before I step into a new week. It's the day I slow down and give myself some of the same care, attention, and love that I so freely give to other people.

And let me tell you something: there is nothing selfish about that.

Sunday Is My Time to Glow

When I say I pamper myself on Sundays, I mean I take the time to really care for me.

I'm talking about my mani-pedi, my facial, my body scrubs, washing my hair, and taking care of the little things that make me feel refreshed, beautiful, and renewed. Sometimes it's about a long, relaxing shower. Sometimes it's about taking my time with my skincare or creating a peaceful atmosphere where I can just breathe.

It's not simply about looking good. It's about how I feel when I'm finished.

I want to walk into Monday feeling refreshed, confident, peaceful, and ready for whatever the week brings. I want to feel good in my skin. I want to carry myself with a little extra confidence and a glow that comes from knowing I've taken time to care for myself.

That glow isn't just about what people see on the outside. It's also about what happens on the inside when you finally give yourself permission to slow down.

And here's the beautiful thing: your reset doesn't have to look like mine.

Maybe Sunday is your day. Maybe Saturday works better. Maybe you need a quiet Wednesday evening after a long day. Your reset could be a bubble bath, a hot shower, a walk around your neighborhood, your favorite music, a good book, a workout, prayer, meditation, or simply sitting in a quiet room with absolutely nothing on your schedule.

The day doesn't matter as much as the intention.

Choose your day. Make your space. Pour back into yourself.

Life Is Heavy Enough. Don't Forget Yourself in the Process.

Let's be honest. Life can be a lot.

We have responsibilities, relationships, bills, expectations, family needs, work pressures, and personal challenges. Then there is everything happening around us in the world. Sometimes the news feels overwhelming. Sometimes people we love are struggling. Sometimes we are trying to hold ourselves together while still being the person everybody else depends on.

And sometimes, without even realizing it, we become so focused on getting through the day that we stop asking ourselves how we're actually doing.

Are we tired? Are we overwhelmed? Are we carrying something that we haven't had time to process? Are we giving so much of ourselves away that there is very little left for us?

Those questions matter.

Prolonged stress can affect our well-being, which is one reason it's important to pay attention to how we're feeling and seek support when we need it. We cannot control every circumstance, every disappointment, or everything happening in the world. But we can begin to recognize when we need a pause, a boundary, a helping hand, or a little more care.

You do not have to carry everything at once.

You are allowed to take a breath. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to say, "I need a moment."

And you are allowed to enjoy your life, even when everything around you isn't perfect.

Choose Your Battles. Protect Your Peace.

One thing I've learned is that not everything deserves my energy.

Not every disagreement needs a response. Not every situation needs me to step in and fix it. Not every opinion needs to be explained or defended. And not every problem needs to become my personal responsibility.

Sometimes peace begins when you stop giving every situation access to your time, thoughts, and emotions.

That doesn't mean ignoring the things that matter. It means learning to recognize what needs your attention right now, what can wait, what you can influence, and what you have to release.

Ask yourself:

  • Is this something I need to address today?

  • Is this mine to carry, or am I carrying it for someone else?

  • Will giving this more of my energy help the situation?

  • What do I need right now to protect my peace and move forward?

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is step back, breathe, and choose your next move with intention.

You cannot pour from an empty cup forever. And you shouldn't have to empty yourself to prove that you love someone.

Never Set Yourself on Fire to Keep Someone Else Warm

I want you to sit with that for a moment.

Never set yourself on fire to keep other people warm.

You can love your family. You can support your friends. You can show up for the people who depend on you. You can be compassionate, generous, and giving.

But you are a person in need of care, too.

Your dreams matter. Your happiness matters. Your health matters. Your rest matters. The things you want to experience and accomplish in this life matter.

You don't have to abandon yourself to be a good mother, partner, friend, daughter, sister, or colleague. You don't have to say yes to everything to prove your love. And you don't have to keep pushing through exhaustion just because people are accustomed to you being the strong one.

Sometimes, being strong means recognizing that you need a break.

Sometimes, loving others means learning how to love yourself in a healthier way, too.

And sometimes, the next chapter of your life begins when you stop putting yourself at the bottom of your own list.

You deserve to be on that list.

Pour Into Yourself Before You Pour Into Everyone Else

I believe in taking care of yourself in ways that feel meaningful to you.

For me, faith is a foundation. I put God first in everything I do, then I make room for myself, and then I show up for everyone and everything else. Prayer helps me reconnect with what grounds me and reminds me that I don't have to navigate every moment by myself.

Your own practice may look different, and that's okay. What matters is finding the things that help you reconnect with yourself and what gives your life meaning.

Here are a few ways to begin pouring back into yourself:

Give your body some care. Take a warm shower, enjoy your skincare routine, stretch, move your body, take a walk, or get some rest. You don't need an elaborate routine to begin.

Give your mind a moment of quiet. Put your phone down for a little while. Step away from the constant stream of information. Write down what's on your mind instead of trying to carry every thought around all day.

Give your spirit room to breathe. Pray, meditate, spend time outdoors, listen to music that lifts you, or sit quietly and reflect on what matters to you.

Give your happiness some attention. Do something you've been putting off because you've been too busy taking care of everybody else. Revisit a hobby. Make plans with someone you love. Work toward a goal that belongs to you.

Give yourself permission to say no. You can care about someone without being available every moment. You can offer help without taking responsibility for everything. You can have boundaries and still have a loving heart.

Give yourself credit. Notice what you've made it through. Celebrate the small wins. Speak to yourself with the same kindness you would offer someone you love.

You don't have to change your entire life overnight. Start with one small act of care and let yourself build from there.

You Don't Have to Wait Until You're Completely Exhausted to Reset

One of the biggest mistakes we can make is waiting until we're running on empty before we give ourselves permission to rest.

We wait until we're overwhelmed. Until we're frustrated. Until we're emotionally drained. Until our bodies are begging us to slow down.

But what if we made room for ourselves before we reached that point?

What if we treated rest as something we deserve, rather than something we have to earn?

What if checking in with ourselves became a regular part of our lives instead of something we only do when things go wrong?

That's the idea behind a reset.

A reset is not about pretending that everything is fine. It's about giving yourself an opportunity to pause, notice what you need, and decide what comes next.

Some weeks, your reset might be a full afternoon of pampering. Other weeks, it might be ten minutes of quiet, a few honest words in a journal, or a decision to stop saying yes to things that leave you overwhelmed.

Both count.

The goal isn't perfection. The goal is to make room for yourself consistently, in ways that fit your real life.

A Little Help Creating Your Own Reset Ritual

This is one of the reasons I created the Still Becoming Wellness Reset Collection.

I wanted to offer women practical tools to help them slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves—not because they need another thing to do, but because they deserve a space that is just for them.

The collection brings together three complementary tools:

  • The Sunday Reset Guide helps you check in with yourself, reflect on your priorities, and prepare for the week ahead.

  • The 12 Companion Reflection Cards offer focused prompts to help you pause, answer an honest question, and choose a small intention or action.

  • When the World Gets Heavy: A Reflection & Renewal Journal gives you a deeper space to explore what you're carrying, consider your needs, reflect on faith and hope, and make room for personal renewal.

The digital collection includes fillable PDF pages so you can type your reflections on a compatible device, save your work, and return to it when you need another moment for yourself. You can also print pages or cards when you'd rather write by hand.

You don't need to use everything at once. Start where you are. Choose the page or prompt that speaks to you. Give yourself a few minutes to be honest about what you need.

This is your time. Your space. Your reminder that you matter, too.

Walk Into Your Week With a Little More Intention

I want you to imagine starting your week feeling a little more grounded. You've taken a moment to care for your body. You've given your mind a chance to settle. You've checked in with your spirit and thought about what truly deserves your energy.

Life may still have challenges waiting for you on Monday. We cannot promise that a reset will make every problem disappear.

But you can meet the week knowing that you have taken a moment to care for yourself—and that you can return to that practice whenever you need it.

You can carry confidence without pretending to have everything figured out. You can protect your peace while still caring about others. You can be hopeful while acknowledging that some things are hard.

And you can let your glow come from more than how you look. Let it come from the way you honor yourself, the boundaries you practice, the joy you make room for, and the care you give your own life.

So, beautiful, choose your day.

Make time for the facial. Take the walk. Wash your hair. Say your prayer. Write in your journal. Turn off the noise for a little while. Do the thing that helps you feel like yourself again.

And remember: you don't have to wait for life to become perfect before you start taking care of the woman living it.

You are worth showing up for. You are worth pouring into. And you deserve to make room for yourself.

With love,
